First Steps
I offer a free 15-20 minute telephone consultation, to discuss your difficulties and what you would like to achieve from therapy, and if I am best placed to help you. Following this, you can end there and either take some time to consider or if we are both happy to continue we can go forward to a formal counselling assessment.
We can arrange to meet at my practice for a face-to-face formal assessment. This time is used an opportunity for us to discuss your difficulties I will ask questions to better understand your difficulties and you will be able to get a sense of how I work. We will formalise our therapy arrangements for our work together and begin the journey.
All payments are made by either cash or bank transfer 48 hours prior to the session unless otherwise agreed in order to confirm your appointment. I require 72 hours of workday notice for cancellations otherwise the full fee is required.
Therapy contract
If we mutually agree to begin therapy then further sessions will be agreed upon and arranged and a therapeutic contract will be signed at our first session. This contract outlines the agreed times of meeting, payment agreement, information regarding holidays, confidentiality cancellations, and our mutual responsibilities during our work together. I will also gather information such as your GP details name and address. An information sheet regarding Information governance is also given to you at the first session.
